Plans have been gestating for The Great Dolman Top sew-along. The pattern has been graded from 18m/2T through 7Y/8Y and photos have been taken of the steps for the tutorial.
I want to make just
one more for the boy child but I'm at least 97% certain that this will be a unisex project with the option for a waistband or straightforward hem, and a couple of variations on the pattern for fun.
To give me a general idea of interest in a sew-along (and more importantly a kick up the bum to finish the plan)... who's on drums and who has tambourine?
Oooh exciting! I'm in! I'll take the tambourine ;-)
ReplyDeleteCan I be keyboard?? I'm sure I have some glitter around here. Keyboard players need glitter, right?
ReplyDeleteAnd my kids need shirts!
Ive just ordered a new sewing machine, it's coming Friday, Hoorah! So am totally up for joining in!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!
DeleteMe! I want to join in...half a metre will be enough right? Where can I get the contrasting waistband/arm/neck stuff from?
ReplyDeleteHalf a metre should be fine. You can, of course, get contrasting ribbing from me but cotton / lycra jersey or even interlock would work too. Check ebay :)

ReplyDeleteAfter the success I had following your pettiskirt tute, I'm in!
ReplyDeleteNice. Glad it goes so large!
ReplyDeleteCount me in! I'll play triangle :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in as a maybe. Girl child recently announced that shorts "don't make her a ballerina" so I may have many, many tops with no bottoms. I'll be sewing up some skirts as a first priority, but love the look of this cute top!
ReplyDeleteI think Rylee is in Princess Phase Two at the very least :)
Delete*Raises hand* me me me me me.
ReplyDeleteI think we have a bontempi organ around here somewhere. Will we still be aloud to play with non-stretchy material? I'm on absolute fabric buying lock-down. Please so yes, we do a mean samba beat here!
ReplyDeleteI might experiment and try it with a woven but it's really designed for a knit. Can you use a large thrifted t-shirt or two for its fabric?
Delete(how shameful)***allowed***
ReplyDeleteI wanted triangle but Rach got there before me *sulks*
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll be recorder then.
me too, me too!!!:)
ReplyDeleteWill we need ribbing for the sleeves and waistband? Or can we just use normal stretchy fabric?
ReplyDeleteNormal stretchy fabric is fine!
DeleteI'm on the sax or would be happy to.be a bez style dancer
ReplyDeleteI'm in! Put me down for the cymbals :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm in. Sign me up for a kazoo. And shameless backside-shaking. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm in! kids are whoofully short on t-shirts & now it'll be getting hot so I need to get sewing!
ReplyDeleteIf I manage to get a new sewing machine in time then I'll give it a good go! I reserve the right to deny all knowledge if it goes horribly wrong though lol
ReplyDeletei'm in like flynn (rider - we watch far too much Tangled around here!). i'll go for Bez style maracas and dancing.
