Proto-pants

Now here's something I didn't think I've ever do...
bathing suit proto

But then I was thinking that if I'm going to, you know, actually wear my Wonder Woman bathing suit in public I should probably be okay with wearing something similar on the internet. But I will distract you with all sorts of detritus in the background.

So: one-piece, two-piece, different two-piece, burka?

  1. They look great! I'd be tempted to just wear those on the beach lol.

    1. Nobody would look at them if you went topless... :)

  2. It's cute, but is it comfy? I feel like I would be hiking them up all the time.

    1. Didn't do any bending over or anything but they're pretty loose! Didn't want them to be so tight that they'd cause overspill :) So, yeah, they are comfy but not necessarily secure... Don't think I'd wear them in the ocean waves.

  6. Nice! I like the cut. two-piece for sure ... tankini maybe? Then you can bare as much or as little as you fancy (or feel brave enough to bare). I'm presently contemplating a tankini with a bottom similar to this one of yours from M&S.

  7. Ha, I'm working on a suit for myself right now, and was wondering if I had the guts to post images of myself in a swimsuit. You look great, and I love the cut on on the legs. The pattern I'm working from is vintage, and called for elastic around the legs, I'm now unpicking two rows of three step zig zag on each leg. The elastic made my legs look like sausage links.

  8. Fab. Like the cut, not reminiscent of granny pants at all. I'd maybe make them a weeny bit tighter as a teensy bit of overspill is preferable to exposing your lovely bum to all and sundry.

  9. I think you look pretty good! If you're worried about the overspill/falling down problem, you could always sew some very slightly tighter elastic into the bottom of the waistband, you need to juggle it a bit so that the bottom bit is secure but then the less tight bit above just sits nicely.

    1. That is a really good idea, I might try that! Maybe clear elastic in the seam would work too?

  10. love is not a strong enough word to describe how i feel about your blog. you don't disappoint. I also vote for tankini for maximum versatility, and I vote that you lend me your thighs for the part of the year that is not summertime in scotland.

  12. These are awesome and you look fantastic. If you don't go with a tankini style, or even if you do... I think you could still take the waist a little higher. (Only if you want! I know you were looking at some higher styles. I think you could afford to go up to the belly button if you wanted and it would be cute. These look awesome as they are though.)
