Skater Dress for grown up ladies (named Amanda)

Let's do this thing #isew #neverendingskaterdress

At very long last and after much pestering, the Skater Dress is going grown-up!

Well, if nothing else the Big Girl Skater Dress has a perfect neckband #isew #neckbandporn

So far so good.  Majestic neckband, check.

What say you, IG? #biggirlskaterdress #isew

And here's the finished front view...  (promise the sleeve isn't weird and bunchy, it's a photo-abberation)

Side view #biggirlskaterdress #isew

And the finished side! Not too shabby for a first attempt, no?  Apologies for the picture quality, these are all filched from Instagram, where I reveal all top-secretness first because I am in love with it.

  1. I'd better lay off the choccie if I want to make one, it doesn't look like it'll hide a wobbly tummy too well lol!

    1. Ignore the last, I've got Bridget Jones style pants!

    2. Not necessary! Where the waistline hits and with the curve of the skirt tummy issues are skimmed over. Ask me how I know :)

  2. Definitely on my to-do list when it comes out! My daughter loves hers:) My version would just be longer with a higher neckline and underwear to squeeze it all in.. lol.

  3. LOVE it! Can't wait to have my own. You can have me test it for curvy women with big boobs instead of skinny women with big boobs.

  4. Looking good, it has got a really smooth finish. That must be a brilliant bra you are wearing, mine would look all bumpy - and I am not sure if I mean my actual boobs or the state of my bra collection!!! Jo x

  10. Looks lovely. I've had some jersey sitting in my stash for just this dress.

By the way, where do you get your ribbing from? I couldn't find any in your shop - do you have a secret supplier?

    1. I normally have ribbing in the shop but I've been on the hunt for a new supplier with a bigger colour range for aaaaaages and I think I've found one. Hopefully back soon with lots of colours.

  12. Ooh are you going to release it for sale? I love this shape and it's what I've been dreaming about for summer. I was going to draft it myself, but I'm not above cheating and buying the pattern :)

  13. I could try and make it work on my jelly-consistency self as a bathing suit cover up so I might give it a go. Looking forward to it (or not)

  16. Being a teenager and the owner of many skater skirts & dresses, I have to say this is pretty cute, I'd wear it, probably shortened a bit though. :)
Are you hooked on the skater style now? I love how the dresses are so comfy and figure flattering on everyone.
