With The Cassette Hoodie comes good tidings
I may have to abdicate my (self-appointed) title of Queen of The Cool Fabric Findings. As well as the sneaker print, this amazing cassette fabric slipped under my radar. Many thanks to Soph4Soph for sending it on so I could make a hoodie for her daughter!
Of course, I'm now forced to buy my own haul of this fabric -- good for me emotionally but not good for me fiscally. It's called Priorities.
Hello again, sneaker fabric.
Notice my new coloured reversible zippers? They cost £2,000,000 but I now have fuschia, royal, red, turquoise and jade. They're so lovely I'm not sure I can be parted from them.
Good news all round: new fabric to love, new zippers to use sparingly. And (drum roll).... the hoodie pattern is complete! It only took 14 months or so. But I have sizes 18m, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5Y, 6Y, 7Y and 8Y ready for testing. So who has the time / inclination / fabric / zippers / coffee / barbituates to test for me in about a week (after I type up the tute)? Leave a comment with size, gender and an email to contact you through.
I'm not a cool girl anymore, but had my baby a week ago, so I'll be back to my "regular size" in what, a year, maybe =). Now that I'm on maternity leave I'd love to test a 2T/3T size for my daughter! I've made your asymmetrical jacket and love it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing the pattern!

Hi I have a gangly girl who'd love to help me test the 5Y pattern. I will probably need to get the fabric and zippers though - need an excuse to shop fabric anyway!! laylabeattie1977@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteIf only I could sew, I would test the 8yr one.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I'm now on a quest to find cool fabric so that you can make a hoodie for Devin (he keeps trying to wear Brodie's).
I'll test the 18m one for you!
ReplyDeleteI have a 7 year old boy, a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl..... not sure I could test all of them (!!) but would be very happy to test whichever size you want me too :)
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely fabrics :)

Oh my god I love that cassette hoody! I want one for me ;-)
ReplyDeleteAs you don't do that size though i'd love to test the pattern for a 5Y old boy. email is - mail@jemmajessup.com
Where is the fabric from?
Love Nat's choices! Would love to test but fear I would be hopeless :)
ReplyDeleteJust realised I left out all the important details you asked for.
ReplyDeleteI can test 18m / girl, 6yrs / boy and 8yrs / boy (but probably not all or it will take me 60bajillion years).

Hello! Would love to test, though obviously couldn't come up with something quite so cool!! - can do the 4,6 or 8 year old in girls, though not sure if I qualify now we've moved to NL :o(
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy to give it a go, can't guarantee the results will be pretty though lol
ReplyDeleteI could test the 2T,5y or 8y :)
I can test the 6yo for you if you want (no zips, but that can be sorted by trip to fabric shop - any excuse:) (5yo wears up to a whole year bigger)
ReplyDeleteOh My Golly Gosh!! it looks AMAZING!!!!!
ReplyDeletethank you SO much for making it for me!!! :-)
xxxxx
I would love to test a 5T for you !!!!!!
ReplyDeletejayne.roscamp@googlemail...oooops this is Mummybuttons e mail
ReplyDeleteOoh, ooh, ooh! Pick me! Pick me! My little one is a 5, but I would rather make her a 6 (she's tall and long, and like a generous fit on outerwear).
ReplyDeletePretty please with a cherry on top?
I have an average sized 2 and 4 who would love hoodies, although only for indoor use at the moment, as it is 105 degrees outside today.
ReplyDeleteThere would probably be princess and automobile sorts of fabric involved...
As long as across the pond is OK - happy to do a pdf sort of thing if that is up and going.
Oh Oh MEEEEE :D (not bouncing...honest!) I have a 4T and 7T and fabric and zips and way way too much time on my hands :D

I would love to try the pattern! I could make the 18 month for a boy - good excuse to raid my fabric stash :)
ReplyDeleteI could do the 3T or 5Y. I don't have way cool cassette or shoe fabric, so I guess I would have to use plain boring fabric :( (head bowed in shame) hehe
ReplyDeletemeegy08@gmail.com
Lovely! I adore that cassette fabric also.
ReplyDeleteYay for finishing the pattern! I would be more than happy to test out the hoodie pattern. I loved testing the undies pattern for you. I could test out the 7Y for a girl or a 3t for a boy or both. I have more than enough fabric and zippers in my stash to make them without going to the store. Although I might still go to the store and get more to make the "perfect" hoodie. I can post pictures also if you need that.

If I hadn't seen the pictures, I never would've thought it was possible to match those sneakers across the front of a zipper. Wow!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!! I have 2 boys, the youngest is turning one on Friday (But would wear about a 2T through the fall and winter) and the oldest is 4 1/2, so a 5Y would be perfect!! I would love to sew more for them, but it is hard to find little boy patterns that are cute - this is GREAT!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to test your pattern, I'm happy for any size as I have a hoooge family that are always asking me to make things for their children! thesleepybadger@hotmail.co.uk

ReplyDeleteAmyjoyce322@yahoo.com
I would really like testing size 5 if you are not full already
ReplyDeleteAny chance you still need testers? I have a 7 year old boy, 5 year old girl and 18 mo girl. I need to find some equally cool fabric. I'm dying over the sneakers! Love!
