Yesterday's post was all lies. I hate the snow. School was cancelled today and it's already cancelled for tomorrow. We have three inches of snow. Go ahead, laugh, North Americans. I dare you. While we were out celebrating Thanksgiving with grown-ups yesterday, somebody stole the entire head off our snowman. It was that awesome that someone coveted it, waited until we left and stole that head right up. Speaking of awesome, the kids and I did crafting for Christmas pretty much all day long. I'm not sure I'll be able to cope with this much fun in my life. Also, I'm thinking of submitting our Christmas home makeover to Oh-Dee-Doh.
Yeah, you see I was thinking you were fairly smug yesterday as I was reading all about your perfect family moments making snowmen and all that jazz.
ReplyDeleteThe snow is spoilt in this country by all of the morons who can't go out because if a cm of snow and just think that clogging the roads up and closing schools (and restaurants when I go for my only meal out a year!)is a good idea. Pah!
But even better is living somewhere where they close school because snow is forecasted and then it doesn't snow and you're stuck at home unexpectedly with 4 kids and have to explain for the umpteenth time how stupid the local government is that they can't wait 12 hours to see if it will indeed snow. And don't get me started on how awful everyone drives when there's only a 1/2 inch of snow on the ground!
ReplyDeleteThat said, we don't see snow very often so I don't mind an occasional snow day as long as there is actually snow to play in!
Uh oh, lol! I love your crafted-up door, though. I'd have to think up an awful lot of crafts for an all-day crafting festival for my kids, because my 2yo works on something for 3 minutes and she's done, hahah.
ReplyDeleteI either want no snow so life can continue in it's random kind of normalness or I want three feet so I can stay in and knit and send the children out to get hypothermia and build snowmen. It's the inbetween I don't like and the fact that even though the weatherman says it's snowing the gritter doesn't leave the depot, what is that all about?! Ranting now so will finish with why can canada cope with millions of snow flakes every year and we can't cope with a tiny few?! x
ReplyDeleteI think the snow and London Underground are in a conspiracy together. We had a major strike by LU yesterday, and now as it's theoretically getting back to normal we have snow! Non sticking snow, but enough to mess up the transport system. They're working together!
ReplyDeleteI just finished up your hoodie pattern last night...thanks again, it was such a pleasure to sew and your design is really genius!
ReplyDeleteSo you're not the wifey who reported the stolen snowman to the police then? :)
ReplyDeleteHa!! A fellow snow hater ! Excellent...
