Avert your eyes, non-Cool Girls. This is not for you.
I'm starting to see on various places that people have started their skirts (which is awesome, you are both cool and fastidious) but I'm aware we're not talking about Important Stuff anywhere central... Like, is anyone having trouble drafting the pattern? What fabrics are people using? Anyone having trouble with following the instructions for constructing the skirt? And how exactly are they going to explain LOST?
Okay, cool girls, where do you want to hang out after school? My parents are away so we can totally party at my blog but it'll be mixed in with my normal tom-foollery. Or we can party on Flickr, but I think there's more people that are taking part than members of the group... But then again there are some members on Flickr that I don't recognise from my blog! Eeep. Leave a comment with your preference.
Crossposted to the Flickr group!
I'd prefer here but I'm easy ;)
ReplyDeleteI think Flickr would be easier to keep track of.
ReplyDeleteI can always stick a tiny forum on Vonnie's blog to accommodate this but thats possibly overkill
ReplyDeleteI'd say here on your blog. I'm scared that people have started already. Better get on with it I suppose!
ReplyDeleteyour blog would be good...but I'm open to anything :) I have Juuust started, got my husband to measure me last night (that was a shocker...I REALLY don't have a waist anymore) so I will be starting the complicated stuff tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHow is Jamie doing?
Here please?
ReplyDeleteI was just hangin' out waiting for the next post before I did anything... and now I'm behind!
I do have the book, and after I do some heavy drinking I'll get my measurements done... I can't wait for warmer weather so I can be more active.
Either is good for me. I um, have read the book and have a recent set of measurements, so I'm behind too. How did that happen?? I can't decide what I want to do with this skirt! Too many options! Eeek! I'd better just get going already.
ReplyDelete(((HUGS))) to Jamie. Glad he's well!
I'm happy to hang out anywhere - here or flickr. I love the book and in my head I have already made everything I have read about. In the real world I made some measurements and I am a (very big) square. When I get over being a square rather than a rectangle I will crack on.
ReplyDeleteFlickr is fine, I'm struggling on how to get a fastener on the skirt- I like the side buttons but was intimidated by it so think it will be a side zip for mine!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind where, am just off to check the flick group.
ReplyDeleteHere! Hmm, there are only 10 days left, had better get a move on...
ReplyDeleteIf the Flikr group has discussion threads, I vote for there. It will be tricky to track replies and things here on the blog.
ReplyDeleteBut I love the idea of a central place, because I wanted to share this with anyone *else* who's never sewn an invisible zipper before.

I'm laughing at my decision to be a "cool girl" as I'm 19 weeks preggo. I'm thinking my skirt will ride rather low and I'll wear a belly band or long tank this summer. Hopefully my butt doesn't get much bigger, ha!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind where either. I haven't found the flickr group yet so will have to go and have a look... I have now got the book and bought some fabric but not yet plucked up the courage to do my measurements so haven't got further than that yet!
ReplyDeleteFlickr pleeeeze.
ReplyDeleteEither I don't mind.
ReplyDeleteI've read the boo, measured (eek) and drafted the pattern. Now for the muslin....
I think Flickr would be easier to keep everything in one place! Especially for later on, if someone wanted to read back.
ReplyDeleteUm, I'm behind too! I haven't started the skirt yet. Guess I better get crackin this weekend. :D
