This morning the people of Edinburgh climbed out of their caves.

Crowds formed, pointing at the sky. What did we see?
No, it was not alien invasion.
Nor was it unicorns prancing on rainbows.
Egads, the sun!
Blue skinned people passed each other in the street. For the first time since last summer, we smiled at each other.
Desperate to soak up our annual dosage of Vitamin D, we packed into every inch of outdoor space in completely inappropriate clothing given that it is still no more than 14 deg C (58degF).
The very pale people celebrated! The Scottish Summer has arrived! We are invincible!
We are very sunburnt.
Disclaimer for worriers: That's not my back, I found it under 'severe sunburn' in Google Images. I very sensibly stayed indoor with me coat on :) This is just a commentary on the crazy behaviour exhibited whenever the sun makes an all to rare appearance!
Oh my word! Poor you!!! Is that your back? I made the most of the weather too in the garden and it was ridiculously hot (not that I'm complaining!) Hope you're not too prickly tonight - good old Nivea to the rescue. Love your pics of crazy people in the sun :o)
ReplyDeleteGod,no! That's not my back, I found it under 'severe sunburn' in Google Images! I very sensibly stayed indoor with me coat on :) More a commentary on the crazy behaviour exhibited whenever the sun makes an all to rare appearance! I shall add a disclaimer.
ReplyDeleteI did wonder if that was you. We've been enjoying the sunshine too. So have the millions of tourists coming to the new outdoor play area at Kew Gardens today... some of them did look like that picture.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that's not your back though!
I was part of the madness! I'm visiting a friend in Edinburgh, we went to Portobello beach. ;-)
ReplyDeletethat sunburn photo is horrendous! I did get a bit pink yesterday though... whoops.
ReplyDeleteThat was a perfect commentary. But like you, we too stayed indoors, with our sweaters and socks on!
