Petit Mal

My computer went to sleep this morning, and did not wake up. I'll google it, I thought. Bugger. I turned it on and off. No game. Someone on Twitter will know what to do! Bugger. I disconnected cables, reconnected cables. No game. I called Vonnie and Bob in a panic, 'My best friend has died!' Bob talked me through the problem. I opened up the heart of the computer and could find no evidence of the elusive video card despite lots of staring. I have to look up the computer repair shop phone number. Bugger. I found something called a phone book in the recess of the closet. Bring it in, he said. I carried the computer one mile down the road like Atlas carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. He looked at me sadly as he cut the umbilical cord that held us together. Pray for us. Or send me a text. I'm lonely.

  1. Eeesh, you should have called me! I'd have not only brought you a laptop to tide you over, but also a HUSBAND who is quite handy with these things ;)

    Hope it's fixed soon

  6. I will keep you and your computer in my prayers today. I have been there, too, just so you know, that you are not alone. And it is so hard. But with the love and technical support of loved ones, you can get through this.
Just one day at a time.

    I am so sorry.
God Bless you and your computer.

  8. Motherboard AND hard drive?! That's rare and painful. If you have the old disk (and it didn't catch fire) there maybe a glimmer of hope via a data recovery specialist, i.e. me!
