The Cabana Dress

The Cabana Dress

The last thing I was able to make in the last-minute sewing frenzy was this stripey dress for me. It's cut in the same exact pattern as the Disco Dress, but I think it's much cuter. You are obviously free to chime in your agreement. Dissent, not so much. If you look closely, you can see that I have bound the neckline with the stripes going in the other direction. Don't look too closely though as it wasn't done very neatly, but I have since bought proper binding feet for the coverstitch machine and I will re-do it when I get home and watch 16 hours of You Tube videos about how binding accoutrements work. They look terrifying.

The Cabana Dress side

Stripe matching is always impressive, but even more so when it happens after midnight.

The Cabana Dress stripe

Since you guys had so much fun with the Disco Dress and your speculation as to what strange modelling pose I was doing, here is today's mystery: what am I glaring at? Also, the theme of strange hands continues. It is genetic apparently.

  1. ok so please don't be mad but I totally thought you photoshopped the dress on you in the first photo. The colors are just surreal. Stripe matchiing = you are a god.

Blogger still hates me - this is Crystal.

  3. Yowzer, that is one helluva dress! Awesome pattern matching, my dear, and the colours are brilliant. Literally, actually.

I realise that as themaker/ owner of that parrot hoodie, I'm not really in a position to comment, but hey, I know bright when I see it ;)

  4. I thought the dress was photoshopped on too - those stripes are perfect.

I think you are glaring at someone who has told you dinner will be late. My kids give me the same look. Am I right?

  5. Am stunned and worship at your feet due to your stripe matching abilities. Dress looks interesting, if requiring sudden monitor adjustment!

  7. The stripe matching is off the hook! And I love the colors. Rylee has a dress almost exactly like this.
