Fleece was the very first fabric I ever made clothes out of, but I haven't worked with it in over a year! Nevertheless, I bought a bunch of different colours last week to make Jamie some sweatpants and Maia some winter clothes. It's getting very cold here and I've been itching to make Maia some tops that will make her neck warm and snuggly.
So I whipped up a draft fleece tunic last night, with a very high collar and gathered puff sleeves.
This one hits at mid thigh but I'm thinking of making some others that are longer, maybe with pockets and possibly using my lovely new ribbon as trim. What do you think, is it a design worth pursuing? And should it have a kangaroo pocket or two small rounded ones?

Love it, love it, love it!!! Can you make it up to 5??
ReplyDeleteHmm pockets? I like both. I love the idea of a longer one as well though.
Does that help at all??
I really like it!
ReplyDeleteOh, so cute!! I <3 fleece!! I like longer, and pockets. I may be biased though since I just finished a longer fleece tunic with pockets. Apparently we are thinking alike. I love the cowl neck, though. So snuggly!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'd like it longer as a dress, one or two pockets would look equally fab. Alternatively, a simple fleece applique would look great
ReplyDeleteI love it! Are you thinking about putting this out as a pattern? I'd make these for E. I say yes to at least one pocket and yay for longer length too. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteLooks fab!!! two side pockets at the seams would be good, especially for tissues they need to carry at this time of year.
ReplyDeletethere are some lovely fleece fabrics around and i think that minky i linked to would work well in that style. i have several metres of light pink minky bubble here if you want to experiemtn with it. i'm too chicken to!!!!
i'm deeply jealous of your talent to design such fab clothing.
bet they'd look good as adult ones too!!!!
just read other comments and yes longer as a dress with tights and boots would eb fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love longer swing tops on Rylee so I vote even a smidge longer with two smaller pockets. It's super cute!
ReplyDeleteI Love it! Definatly as i dress, and one big pocket maybe in an different colour/print would look cool. I love sewing with fleece, it leaves sooooooo much margine for error.....exactly what i need! x K
ReplyDeleteI love it how it is as a top, but as a dress with a kangaroo pocket would be so adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI love it the length it is - Munchkin gets a bit cold in dresses and tights, so we tend to favour snuggly tops and trousers. I think a kangaroo pocket would be great. I demand you make it into a pattern. Immediately!
ReplyDeletedress, kangaroo pocket (or rip off the katvig pockets)
